Emerging Voices Alejandro Guerrero and Andrea Soto, Atelier ARS°, Guadalajara Elizabeth Whittaker, Merge Architects, Boston Introduced by Mario Gooden 1.5 AIA and New York State CEUs The third evening of the annual Emerging Voices lecture series features Alejandro Guerrero and Andrea Soto of Atelier ARS° and Elizabeth Whittaker of Merge Architects. Emerging Voices spotlights individuals and firms based in the United States, Canada, or Mexico with distinct design voices and the potential to influence the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, and urbanism. Alejandro Guerrero founded Guadalajara-based ATELIER ARSº in 2000. Andrea Soto began working as Guerrero’s associate in 2010. The firm sees its practice as “a way of thinking about the discipline in which history, theory, and criticism are present in the architectural project.” For more on Atelier ARS°, click here. Elizabeth Whittaker established Boston-based Merge Architects in 2003. Merge’s practice seeks to “produce an architecture that embraces the art of making within a larger agenda: to re-define the urban and social boundaries of the city.” For more on Merge Architects, click here. Mario Gooden is the principal and founder of Huff + Gooden. He served on this year’s Emerging Voices committee. http://archleague.org/2015/03/emerging-voices-atelier-ars-merge-architects/
