Emerging Voices Benjamin Aranda and Chris Lasch, ArandaLasch, New York and Tucson Manuel Cervantes Cespedes, MANUEL CERVANTES CESPEDES / CC ARQUITECTOS, Mexico City Introduced by Louise Harpman 1.5 AIA and New York State CEUs The first evening of the annual Emerging Voices lecture series features Benjamin Aranda and Chris Lasch of ArandaLasch and Manuel Cervantes Cespedes of MANUEL CERVANTES CESPEDES / CC ARQUITECTOS. Emerging Voices spotlights individuals and firms based in the United States, Canada, or Mexico with distinct design voices and the potential to influence the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, and urbanism. Benjamin Aranda and Chris Lasch founded New York- and Tucson-based ArandaLasch in 2003. Committed to “experimental research and innovative building,” ArandaLasch’s projects are “multiscalar and interdisciplinary,” operating at a wide range of scales from objects, furniture, and installations to buildings and landscapes. For more on ArandaLasch, click here. Manuel Cervantes Cespedes founded Mexico City-based MANUEL CERVANTES CESPEDES / CC ARQUITECTOS in 2005. The firm identifies itself as, “part of a constellation of Mexican architects belonging to the same generation, late heirs to Mexican Modernism and an architectural tradition that can be traced back to the first pre-Hispanic settlements.” For more on MANUEL CERVANTES CESPEDES / CC ARQUITECTOS, click here. Louise Harpman is partner and founder of Specht Harpman.
