ExperimentaDesign in Lisbon.

The International design, architecture and creativity biennale has unveiled its program for 2009. Themed “It’s About Time”, taking over Lisbon from Sep 9 to Nov 8.

Fostering and analyzing contemporary culture through discussion and reflection, EXD’09 boasts a stalwart cast of participants, showcasing original projects and ideas in different formats, from exhibitions to urban interventions, debates and lectures.

The Opening Week, September 9-13, kick-starts this celebration of contemporary culture and creativity. Prominent architects Alejandro Aravena and Julien de Smedt and graphic design icon Peter Saville headline the Lisbon Conference program (eight speakers in total).  In the Open Talk, themed panel debates, the audience engages well known international agents in a lively exchange on topics proposed by the talk hosts.

The Opening Week calendar also features the opening of the Biennale exhibitions and special projects, in striking Lisbon venues. 

EXD is also a springboard for up and coming talent and experimentation in disciplines across the creative spectrum. This is particularly evident in the inclusion of 53 independent Parallel Events extending the EXD programme across the city of Lisbon.
