AIA/LA Building Performance & Regulations Committee presents... “Five Big Questions About Accessibility” a discussion led by Nate Wittasek, P.E. - ARUP Thursday, May 14 (6pm) WWCOT 3130 Wilshire Blvd., 6th Floor Santa Monica, CA 90403 Limited Capacity. RSVP to [email protected] “Five Big Questions About Accessibility” This presentation will cover five major subject areas pertaining to accessibility in exiting and new facilities. The questions for which we will be exploring answers include the following: 1. If I am doing a renovation, at what point do I have to make the facility accessible? 2. How do the requirements in Chapters 11A and 11B apply to my historic building? 3. Do I have to make my building accessible, even if we are not doing any work? 4. What kinds of accessibility requirements are unique to specific occupancies? 5. How do the requirements for areas of refuge impact my new or existing design?
