The eCAADe (the Association for Education and research in Computer Aided Architectural Design in Europe) is promoting its 1st International Regional Workshop, which is going to be held at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP), in April 4-5 2013.

This initiative is titled “Future Traditions”, and it is composed of a single day Workshop sessions (April 4) followed by a single day Conference event for papers presentation (April 5). Its main goal is to understand and debate how digital technologies can contribute to rethink the traditions and to inspire the future of architecture.

As the keynote speaker in the event, we have the pleasure to announce the confirmation of Prof. Achim Menges, the Director of the Institute for Computational Design (ICD) in Stuttgart. Prof. Achim Menges will talk about his exceptional work in using advanced computational and fabrication processes to think, design and build in architecture in innovative ways.

The organization is now accepting the Submission of unpublished Full Papers for presentation in the “Future Traditions” conference, and publication in the conference proceedings. All papers will be peer-reviewed by an international Scientific Committee (announced in the website), and must be submitted online until the 25th of January, 2013.
