Night four of the L.A. Conservancy's 2015 Last Remaining Seats will feature "How to Marry a Millionaire" at the Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavillion. The popular film series presents classic films in historic theatres. This romantic comedy stars leading ladies Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable, and Lauren Bacall as three models who are determined to marry millionaires. The friends are staying in a luxurious penthouse apartment in New York City owned by Freddie Denmark (David Wayne), who is living in Europe to avoid the IRS. The women hatch a plan to pose as women of means in an attempt to attract rich men, which turns out to be easier said than done, as each of the women encounter men who turn out to be unsuitable in one way or another. Many of the comedic moments of this romantic comedy center on the poor eyesight of Monroe's Pola Debevoise, who refuses to wear her much-needed glasses in public. Luckily, all three of the women are able to stop being so short-sighted when it comes to romantic partners and gain a clear vision of what really matters when it comes to love. A selection of fine reproduced vintage clothing courtesy of reVamp will be on display in the lobby. The L.A. Conservancy started the film series in 1987 as a way to draw attention to L.A.'s historic theatres. The film series has now become a summer tradition, drawing thousands of people from the region, the nation, and outside the U.S. Tickets are on sale now and are $20 for the general public and $16 for Conservancy members.
