Sustainability — no longer just a pretty buzz word — is infiltrating and influencing all aspects of our lives, and this IDNY event showcases two disparate, yet related, examples. Designer Rachely Rotem is set to deploy thousands of feet of reflective rope for Miami’s prestigious Art Basel — and plans to recycle it all after the show. Meanwhile, Ben Uyeda and his Free Green team live up to their name by providing free sustainable house plans. In both cases, green design is reaching the masses, and we invite you to sip, socialize, and be seen in a sleek space while these luminaries discuss their work. Design Talks by: Rachely Rotem Founder and Principal at Rachely Rotem Studio Co-designer of the outdoor pavilion for Art Basel 2010 (a collaboration with Phu Hoang) Ben Uyeda Co-Founder + Chief Architectural Officer at Free Green Open bar sponsored by Prairie Vodka and Abita Beer
