Jeanne Gang heads Chicago-based Studio Gang Architects, a rising international practice whose work tackles contemporary challenges that resound locally and globally. Since founding the practice in 1997, Gang has won numerous honors, among them an Academy Award in Architecture from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and an Emerging Voices Award from the Architectural League of New York. Studio Gang, a collective of architects, designers, and thinkers, generates architecture and urban projects informed by cross-field investigations in materials, technology, and the natural and social sciences. This approach is exemplified by recent Studio Gang projects including the Aqua Tower (the 2009 Emporis Skyscraper of the Year), Northerly Island, O2, and the Nature Boardwalk at Lincoln Park Zoo.
