Bernstein is an architect and a vice president at Autodesk, Inc., a provider of design software, where he leads industry strategy and relations for the architecture, engineering, and construction division. At Autodesk he is responsible for setting the company’s future vision and strategy for technology serving the building industry, as well as cultivating and sustaining the firm’s relationships with strategic industry leaders and associations. Prior to joining Autodesk, Mr. Bernstein was an associate principal at Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects. He writes and lectures extensively about practice and technology issues. Mr. Bernstein is a trustee of the Emma Willard School of Troy, N.Y., a senior fellow of the Design Futures Council, a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, and former chair of the AIA National Documents Committee. With Peggy Deamer, he recently coedited Building (in) the Future: Recasting Labor in Architecture, published by Princeton Architectural Press.
