The Rice Design Alliance (RDA) will lead a group to what some call the last American frontier - the west Texas town of Marfa. The group will be guided through sites in Marfa, including the Chinati Foundation, as well as Presidio on the Rio Grande, and Fort Davis. Trip dates are February 11-14, 2010 and the cost is $1,500 per person. The trip is an encore presentation of a similar sold-out trip RDA led to Marfa in February 2009. Travelers were treated to tours of private homes by Houston’s own Carlos Jiménez as well as architects Lake/Flato and Cameron Armstrong. Architectural Historian, Stephen Fox led a walking tour of downtown Marfa. The trip includes: airfare from Houston, hotel (three nights), ground transportation, three lunches, two dinners, Sunday brunch, two receptions, entrance fees, guides, and gratuities. For more information or to reserve a spot on the tour, please contact Mary Swift, RDA Associate Director of Membership at 713-348-5670 or [email protected].
