The Master of Architecture in Collective Housing, MCH, is a postgraduate professional program of advanced architecture design, organized by the Design Studio Department of the School of Architecture at Universidad Politecnica of Madrid. It is focused on housing, city and energy studies. Students from all nations are trained to develop their expertise in these issues and have demonstrated a high professional level making important contributions in research projects, winning competitions or taking leadership roles in the most relevant architecture firms.
We have always committed to the highest level of excellence combining teachers of international prestige and a thorough participant selection process in order to make the best out of this course. The program is eminently practical and is structured in Workshops and Specialties; Energy and Sustainability, Housing Projects, Housing Theory, Construction & Technology, Residential Urban Planning, Low-Cost Housing, Business Management & International Activity, and Economy, Sociology & Politics.
In the past years, MCH has built a close relationship with great architects such as Dietmar Eberle, Felix Claus, Anne Lacaton, Riken Yamamoto, Frits van Dongen, Hrvoje Njiriç, Juan Herreros, Jacob van Rijs, Alejandro Aravena, Andrea Deplazes, Peter Ebner, Max Risselada or Wiel Arets, who are regular workshop and specialty leaders.
MCH is intended for qualified architects who have completed their bachelor´s degree or equal level certificate. This intensive program takes place in Madrid (Spain) from January until July and the master’s project is submitted in September. Classes are held every afternoon from 16.00h to 21.30h in the MCH Studio, which is reserved for participants to develop their work during the rest of the day.
