Danish architect Bjarke Ingels discusses the development, challenges, and responses to sustainable design in public spaces. He is principal of BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group), an architecture design firm based in Copenhagen. Ingels has designed several skyscrapers and other projects in a developing section of Copenhagen, and his most notable works include the Concert House in Stavanger, Norway, City Hall in Tallinn, Estonia, and VM Houses in Copenhagen. Among several current projects is West 57, a large housing project on West 57th Street in New York City.
For the duration of Nordic Cool 2013, the Terrace Gallery will become the Cool Club, an extension of the Nordic Design Illustrated exhibition. The Cool Club will feature the iconic Arne Jacobsen Series 7 chairs, on loan from Fritz Hansen, the Embassy of Denmark in Washington, D.C., and Furniture from Scandinavia, and a new curtain made from fabric by Marimekko.
This is a FREE event. General Admission tickets will be distributed, one (1) per person on a first-come—first-serve basis, in front of the theater, 30 minutes before the performance begins.
