The North East Festival of Architecture celebrates all that’s good about architecture, public space and the built environment in the North East of England.
The first North East Festival of Architecture was held in 2008 (14-22 June). It was born out of the national architecture festival initiative called Architecture Week, which ended in 2007 when national funding was withdrawn. The Festival has always had a good public following and has made an important contribution to the region and to Northern Architecture’s work in promoting good design in the built environment to the people of the North East. Recognising this, Northern Architecture joined together with local businesses and organisations to continue the Festival in 2008.
