Event Details Moderated by Dean Michael Speaks, the conversation will feature Florencia Pita and Jackilin Hah Bloom of Pita & Bloom andJon Lott, William O’Brien Jr. , and Michael Kubo of Collective-LOK.Each team will present their work followed by a discussion period. Now in its 15th year, the P.S. 1 competition challenges a group of emerging architects to design a temporary installation that provides shade, seating, and water within the walls of the P.S.1 courtyard for MoMA’s annual summer “Warm-Up” series, working within guidelines that address environmental issues, including sustainability and recycling. Pita & Bloom’s project, “Balloon Frame,” aims to echo contemporary pop culture, local street art, and the vivid perceptual experiences of watching parade balloons. Collective-LOK’s submission, Mirror, Mirror reimagines P.S. 1 MoMA’s triangular courtyard with a billowing “urban mirror” that transcends the boundaries of the site. Fisher Center architecture events are free and open to the public but seating is limited. To reserve a seat for this event, please visit http://www.eventbrite.com/e/ps1-finalists-tickets-10927493427
