Los Angeles architect Patrick Tighe AIA, FAAR, principal and lead designer of Patrick Tighe Architecture, will present the work of his award-winning firm. He will discuss the quest for resolution in the work and the simultaneous discovery of latent meaning in the architecture.

Since the inception of Patrick Tighe Architecture, a strong and diverse body of projects has been realized that include city developed affordable housing, commercial, mixed use projects, civic art, installations and residences. The firm advocates a collaborative approach and has developed an extensive network of highly skilled consultants, artisans, and trades people.

Tighe has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards including the prestigious Rome Prize, several National AIA Awards, the AIA’s Young Architect Award, a Progressive Architecture Award, 40 under 40 Award, American Architecture and Los Angeles business Council Awards as well as local AIA Honors.  He is a Fellow of both the American Academy in Rome and the MacDowell Colony.  His work has been published extensively and exhibited internationally. Tighe currently teaches at the Southern California Institute of Architecture.

Projects in development include The Sierra Bonita Mixed Use Affordable Housing project for people living with disabilities, which is now under construction for the City of West Hollywood, also a private villa for H H Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayad Al Nahyan on the Northern-most coast of Morocco.

Lectures are free and open to the public.  They are located in the Gin D. Wong, FAIA Conference Center, Harris Hall, on the University Park campus.  No reservations are required.  Parking is available on campus at Gate 1 off Exposition Blvd.
