Paul Rudolph & The Press: A Conversation with John Morris Dixo

Friday, May 13, 20113 AMEDT

246 East 58th Street New York, NY | 246 East 58th Street New York, NY

The Paul Rudolph Foundation is pleased to announce the tenth installment of our salon series on Modern Architects with a discussion led by John Morris Dixon. Mr. Dixon is graduate of MIT in architecture. Dixon left the drafting board in 1960 to become a journalist. He was a staff editor at Progressive Architecture 1960-1965 and Architectural Forum 1965-1971. He then returned to P/A, where he was chief editor from 1972 to 1996. In recent years he has written on architecture for several magazines, and he is now a contributing editor for Architect magazine. One of his early editorial assignments was an article about Rudolph's Endo Labs, and he was privileged to attend the opening celebration at the A+A. As a chronicler and observer, he has seen a remarkable number of Rudolph's buildings, including such far-flung landmarks as the Tuskegee chapel, the Southeastern Massachusetts Technical Institute, and the towers in Fort Worth, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Mr. Dixon will unite his personal and professional experiences to demystify the lore surrounding our namesake and his unique relationship with the media. Tickets are available here: http://www.nycharities.org/Events/EventLevels.aspx?ETID=3532
