Between May 5 and 10, 2009, along the Linear Park in San Michele di Ganzaria (Sicily, Italy), the 5th edition of the “PICNIC AT THE TEMPIO RIVER”, a design workshop conceived and produced by NOWAlab, will take place.

The workshop, curated by Mario Lupano, Marco Navarra and Alessandro Rocca, is working this year on the theme “TEXTURE”. It explores a field where various design approaches and techniques, ranging from fashion design and architecture to contemporary art and literature, intertwine.

Participants may take part in several different ateliers,  according to their specific interests. Among these: PicArt (tutor: Alterazioni video, Milan-NewYork), PicFood (tutor: Arabeschi di Latte, Florence), PicGarden (tutor: Giovanni Corbellini, University of Trieste), PicScape (tutor: Stefan Tischer, University of Sassari; Elena Vincenzi, Fondazione Villa Ghigi, Bologna), PicMovie (tutor: Pierluigi Anselmi, NABA, Milan), PicClothes (Silvio Betterelli, IUAV University in Venice).

Students and newly graduates in Architecture, Agriculture, Fine Arts and Performing Arts, coming from Europe and Mediterranean countries and with a penchant for teamwork and self-construction, are invited to participate.
