The QueensWay Connection: Elevating the Public Realm exhibition presents entries to the latest ideas competition developed by the AIANY Emerging New York Architects (ENYA) Committee. Entrants were challenged to design a vertical gateway for the elevated viaduct portion of a 3.5 mile stretch of abandoned railway in central Queens, currently under study for conversion into an urban greenway by The Trust for Public Land, Friends of the Queensway, and their design consultants. The four prize-winning projects, along with one honorable mention will be featured at the exhibition. All 120 entries from 28 countries will also be on view at the Center for Architecture. A timeline of the Queensway site, including photographs and ephemera provided by Friends of the Queensway, will complement the submitted works. The QueensWay Connection: Elevating the Public Realm exhibition will be on view at the Center for Architecture from July 17 - October 31, 2012. Center for Architecture
