Sunday, Apr 21, 20136:04 AM — Sunday, May 12, 20136:04 AMEDT

331 Keawe St. Honolulu, HI | 331 Keawe St. Honolulu, HI

image THE MANIFESTO We are witnessing the precipice of digital supremacy, where data has usurped ideas’ as the epoch of treatise within contemporary architectural discourse; sterile research and indifferent analysis of data, i.e. diagrams, renders, and data visualizations have trumped the self-critical thesis and allegorical expression of ideas. Software has replaced the authorship. Computation has replaced the narrative. What were the consequences of Architect’s naive and hasty embrace of new technology and media, if not the ubiquity of endless data? If not the death of ideas? THE EXHIBITION XMANIFOLD A.D.R.L.(Applied Design Research Laboratory), in association with CoXist Studio presents: ‘Revenant: the Undeath of Ideas in Architecture, an exhibition of ambitious, unbuilt projects by young architects from across the globe, from New York to London, Barcelona, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Honolulu, resurrecting the legacy of vanguard, utopian, and subversive ideas in built environments. The exhibition is scheduled for an opening on April 20th at the ‘CoXist Studio' in Kakaako @ 331 Keawe St. Honolulu HI 96813 To friends, fellows, patriots, and enemies of architecture, join us. Reception will be held at CoXist Studio from 6:00PM to 8:00PM
