About LEED: LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, has redefined the way we think about the places where we live, work and learn. As an internationally recognized mark of excellence, LEED provides building owners and operators with a framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in 2000, the LEED rating systems are developed through an open, consensus-based process led by LEED committees. To help local architects learn about the certification process and green design generally, RTKL is offering a free study series. During the sessions, topics related to LEED as well as the China Three-Star Evaluation Standard GB/T 50378-2006 will be discussed. As well as offering practical information on sustainable design, the course is designed to be an interactive opportunity for practicing architects and urban planners with up to five years of experience to learn about the certification process, and discuss industry trends together with global industry-leading seasoned architects. The sessions will cover Green Building Design basics, Green project teams, Green Building Rating Systems and the LEED Green Associates exam.
