This first talk in a monthly series of events produced by Sustainable Silver Lake is about the Integrated LEED Design of Silver Lake Library.
Talk with Q&A by Thomas Michali, Partner, M2a Milofsky Michali and Cox Architects.
Mr. Michali will present a brief introduction to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) requirements and how the design process for the Silver Lake Library integrated green design features into the planning, design and construction to target the goal of reaching a Gold level building.

Talk with Q & A by Natalie Freidberg of EcoNatalie, Inc.
Ms. Freidberg is a Certified Green Building Professional and a Certified National Sustainable Buildings Advisor. She has a degree in Environmental Policy from Occidental College. The discussion will include the importance of our individual efforts to become more energy efficient in our homes, as well as suggestions to help reduce energy and water consumption, thereby reducing costs.

Talk with Q&A by Terumi Toyoshima of Heal the Bay
Ms. Toyoshima will discuss the damage caused by plastic bags and other trash in our rivers, seas and other natural environments, explain how Heal the Bay is helping to prevent this damage and suggest how we can all help to reduce the damage.
