Spotlight on Design: Robert A.M. Stern RAMSA founder and senior partner Robert A.M. Stern presents a history of the garden suburb in conjunction with the recent publication of Paradise Planned: The Garden Suburb and the Modern City (The Monacelli Press, 2013), which he co-authored with David Fishman and Jacob Tilove. The book is the definitive history of the garden suburb from its origin in late-18th-century England to the onset of World War II, and suggests how the principles of traditional town planning can inform efforts to remedy fraying urban fabric and suburban sprawl in our own time. A book signing follows the talk. 1.5 LU HSW (AIA) / 1.5 CM (AICP) / 1.5 PDH (LA CES) $12 Museum | $12 Student | $20 Non-member. National Building Museum
