Study Day at MoMA and United Nations Headquarters March 27, 2015 New York City, NY The Museum of Modern Art, 11 W. 53rd St United Nations Headquarters, 760 United Nations Plaza $199 (includes admission fees, honoraria, morning coffee, SAH donation, and administrative expenditures) Space is limited to 25 people AIA/CES: 5 LU/HSW Study Tour Fellowship offered for this program Your Hosts SAH Representative: Sandy Isenstadt, SAH 2nd Vice President MoMA Presentation: Barry Bergdoll, MoMA Curator UN Presentation: Assistant Secretary-General Michael Adlerstein, Executive Director of the UN Capital Master Plan This two-part SAH Study Day will preview a new exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art, Latin America in Construction: Architecture 1955–1980, scheduled to open officially on March 29, and take a behind-the-scenes look at the United Nations Headquarters Capital Master Plan, a seven-year project to renovate and preserve this icon of mid-century modernism conceived, in large part, by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. A generous break is scheduled in between to allow participants to visit two other MoMA exhibitions, Uneven Growth: Tactical Urbanisms for Expanding Megacities and Making Music Modern: Design for Ear and Eye.
