Directed by Anton Savov & Ata Mansuroglu In Partnership with Städelschule Architecture Class “Interactive Architectural Prototypes” is a two week Summer Lab for students, architects, designers and game developers based on the principles of experimentation and interactivity through emerging technologies in architectural production. Learn interactive architectural prototyping with various techniques of feedback. From basic NURBS modelling in Rhino, through parametric tooling with Grasshopper, to interacting with users with Unity 3D game-engine and sensing with Arduino. Workshop is beginner level. No previous software experience is required. The acquired knowledge will be applied to designing interactive prototypes ultimately exhibited at an open public exhibition at the Städelschule. Applications To apply register using the online form at Summer Lab Website - www.summerlab.info A simple CV or a two-page portfolio is recommended but not required. (submit as PDF to [email protected]): Participants traveling from abroad are responsible for securing any visa required, and are advised to contact their home embassy early. We shall provide a letter of participation confirmation upon payment of the fees. Fees The Summer Lab Frankfurt requires a fee of €1200 per participant. 50% discount for all members(students, alumni and employees) of our academic/industrial partners. Tuition includes: tutorials, lectures, city-tour, opening and closing reception, two-week public transport ticket, lunch. Participants need to bring their own laptops, digital equipment and model making tools. Please ensure this equipment is covered by your own insurance as the Summer Lab takes no responsibility for items lost or stolen at the workshop. Eligibility The workshop is open to students and inspired professionals worldwide from the fields of architecture, design, programming and computer games, keen on experiencing a dynamic design environment. An experience in design/architecture or programming/developer background is necessary. The official language of the Summer Lab is English.
