Tile of Spain presents a free professional seminar for architects: Ceramic Facades: New possibilities, new finishes, new technologies Leading international facades specialist and Associate Director at ARUP Madrid Ignacio Fernández Solla will offer technical insight on the expanding world of ceramic solutions for building envelopes 22 October 2015 (With tapas lunch from 12:30 – 2:30 pm, presentation 1 -2pm) The SCIN Gallery, Morelands, 27 Old Street, London, EC1V 9HL Architects and specifiers are invited to register for free by emailing: [email protected] Tile of Spain, the voice of the Spanish tile industry, is hosting a lunchtime seminar on advanced ceramic solutions for façade design on October 22nd at the SCIN Gallery in Clerkenwell. This free event will feature a presentation by technical expert Ignacio Fernández Solla of ARUP Madrid, followed by an informal Q&A and networking session. Ignacio Fernández Solla will explore what makes ceramic tile a forward-thinking specification for building envelopes and will give a technical overview of the various installations methods – from rain-screen facades to embedding in precast, to completely bespoke solutions. The presentation will also look at the latest high-performance innovations from Spanish manufacturers, such as bio active finishes and ultrathin, large-format technical porcelain. The event will be moderated by materials specialist and founder of the SCIN Gallery, Annabelle Filer, and will include a curated product showcase demonstrating the variety of ceramics solutions for facades from Tile of Spain members. The format of the event will include welcome drinks and a Spanish-flavoured buffet lunch in the product gallery from 12:30, the presentation at 1pm, followed by further refreshments and an opportunity to ask questions and network. All attendants will receive a complimentary certificate of completion.
