UCLA Department of Urban Planning, School of Public Affairs PRESENTS: THE 2009 LEON HOFFMAN URBAN TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE Wednesday, May 27, 2009 8:15 am to 12:45 pm (continental breakfast begins at 7:30 am) Japanese American National Museum Little Tokyo, downtown Los Angeles, California The Leon Hoffman Conference has been approved for 4 Certification Maintenance (CM) Credits for AICP members. Established in 1995, this bi-annual event has grown into a cutting edge technology forum on issues and ideas that have shaped our urban lifestyle by bringing them to the forefront in an educational environment with vibrant, pioneering speakers. The Leon Hoffman Urban Technology Conference serves the dual purpose of raising scholarships for urban planning and architecture students and honoring the multi-disciplinary creativity of the late Leon Hoffman, M.A Urban Design in 1970 from UCLA. The Conference continues to serve as a forum for urban planners, urban designers and architects to explore emerging concepts that cut across the various disciplines. The Hoffman Conference is held yearly in honor of Leon Hoffman, founder and first president of the Urban Planning Alumni Association, and pioneer in the development of computerized technology in Urban Planning. Proceeds from the conference help support the Leon Hoffman Fellowships for urban planning and architecture students. http://www.spa.ucla.edu/up/LeonHoffman09/
