This conference brings together policymakers, technologists, engineers, activists and intellectuals to explore how information and communication technologies are changing the governance, social experience, management and study of our cities. This is a part of a larger project at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs to explore the main critical policy issues raised by the digital revolution, which is upending entire fields and industries and causing many changes in our daily lives. The latest phase of information and communication technology development will have a particularly powerful effect on our cities and regions, leading to new paradigms of urban management, public decision-making and participation, social interaction, and social-scientific methodology. The keynote presentation will be given by computer scientist and futurist Jaron Lanier, author of "Who Owns the Future?" The event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP by April 21 or contact us for more information: uclaluskindigitalcities.eventbrite.com 310-206-8034
