Following his death, the sidewalk became a memorial – his handprints and the queues. We propose an illuminated sidewalk, the ordinary made special, a journey. The work is the legacy. Seven albums spanned four decades; we propose to record this journey, inspired by the illuminated footpath of the ’82 Billy Jean video. This was innovation. A seat-wall contains the album covers in sequence; we can either walk the path or watch a sequence of his dance movements, recorded in light, absence before us.

I also thought about that but couldn't imagine how to develop the idea into an original monument. I like the way you describe it in the text but the image could communicate a more urban context and have people interact with it.
